Poole Book

I am sure all are aware of the soon to be released book about Bill Poole. I recently saw a website that gives an overview. I thought others on BloodyDecks would find this of interest.

Re: Poole Book

Bill is a hell of a guy. I've stayed at his ranch in montana a few times. Just listening to stories he tells is addicting. I cant wait to get ahold of that book.

Re: Poole Book

Did anyone get this book? I'm interested in picking it up this weekend at the Delmar show. I think fishermans landing has it. Is it worth it?

Re: Poole Book

My uncle who lives in Montana was stationed in S.D. in the navy and ran crash boats for the planes taking off and landing.
He told me he used to run Bill's boat on his day off (sunday) so Bill could do his land based work one day a week. He told me Bill's wife would cook on the boat which was an old converted navy crash boat.
This was back in the early 50's maybe???? I forgot the year but I know it was not too long after WWII.

Aloha, Pete

Re: Poole Book

Everybody and anybody who's ever picked up a rod and reel, needs to read this book. Not only does it pay due homage to a man, whom is undoubtably the most respected man amoung his collegues, but to learn the history and sacrafices that allow us to pursue our love of fishing. I read the book...twice. And have asked my wife to read it, so that she may learn about Mr. Poole and what he means to all of us to have pushed a throttle, touched a gaff, gone on a long range adventure or caught a perch off a pier. Please read this book, so as to preserve our great history and the future of sportfishing.
