San Diego Long Range Fishing Thread, spectra vs. mono in Fishing Reports; any one have any advice. i know nothing about spectra and dont know where to start. can any one help....

All you really need to know is to use it. Depending on how long or short a top shot you use it can double your line capacity. The initial cost will be offset by the fact that you're changing shorter top shots. It gives you the opportunity to use heavier line on smaller reels. (make sure the reel can handle it) Very little maintenance and lasts forever. (so far) It takes getting up to speed on connections and the tangles can be outrageous.
Very little stretch which can be good and bad. Tough on your fingers and thumb so you'll be buying more flex tape. Top shots normally run from 25'
to 100 yards depending on your preference and type of fishing. Good luck
