Accurate reels

I was woundering if the Accurate 665 narrow casted better than the 665 wide version? I was not as happy with my 665 wide on my last long range trip it casted good but seemed to be very touchy with over runs. I had no troubles with my diawa 50 saltist. So I was woundering if anyone has extensive experiance between the wids version and the narrow version of the Accurate 665's.

Thanks for your opinions........Mike

Re: Accurate reels

The narrow versions spool will be lighter than the wide. But probably not enough to make a differance with your thumb. I have found that if you can cast one reel you can cast any reel.

However with the narrower spool the line comes off with less criss cross and can handle the speed much better during the initial part of the cast.

I have found with casting that less is more especially with all the new multi-bearing reels.

I would give the reel some more time and if you can barrow a narrrow and compare then you will know for your self.

BTW I fish the 665XN with 50# for the hoo and really like it
