LR tips with a check?

When it comes time to settle my tab and tip i have always paid cash.....i would rather just bring a few checks on the boat and do it that way....does anyone else pay like that? Do the crews mind? thanks.

No, they like check or cash. Doesn't matter.

Re: LR tips with a check?

I have seen many people write a check right on the boat. As david said doesnt matter.

Re: LR tips with a check?

i'm in the service biz, and we always prefer our tips to be cash. that is the blessing of a tip, something to keep secret from uncle sam. that said, i'd prefer a check to nothing. i tell you what makes the tips go down though is when i go out on a boat and the deckies remind me every 5 fucking minutes that gratuities are appreciated. no shit? have some class. if i said something like that to a patron at a fine dining restaurant i worked in i would be out of a job

Re: LR tips with a check?

cash is best because its under the table, check is ok too.

if you really want to get the crew stoked, give them the tip in cash, and give them a cardboard box full of porn, cigarettes, dip/chew and other goodies in addition to the money.
