100lb loaner rig

I was planning on just using my tiagra 30wlrs for 80 and 100, but nowI think I need to get-borrow-rent a true 100lb rig for my 10-day on the RRIII on Nov 2nd. Anyone know how much these rent for?

Re: 100lb loaner rig

The 2-speeds are $100 according to the girls at the dock. The other landing, which is I guess just up the street rents 2 speeds for $125 plus a ~$500 deposit. They also have trip packages, but I don't know if those would apply for a RRIII trip.

I am expecting to pay over $200 just to rent my fishing poles, but if they work I think it willbe worth it.

Most boats I've been on (Royal Star, Royal Polaris, Shogun, Excel) will lend you gear, and you only have to pay for the line.

That's what's sooo cool about this LR board... most LRangers are willing to help a brother out....

I hope you have enough HEAVY gear for the April trip, Bro.... gonna need 1-2 50W's...

Re: 100lb loaner rig

I have an virgin rig that you are more than welcome to beat up on some big fish.

Calstar 760H with an Avet 50/2 topless with 130# spectra. I have an 80# topshot on it but both the reel and the rod will fish 100# easily--I got it so that I could fish it with either 80# or 100#.

Re: 100lb loaner rig

I have not been following.

Whats wrong with the TI30WLRS for 100#? Do you want a 80 and 100 and need another or are you nervous about fishing 100# on the TI30WLRS. A TI30WLRS is a 100# reel. Last fish i got on mine was on 130#.

Or is the rod too light?

Spectra back for capacity.

Re: 100lb loaner rig

I have about 400 yards 130 jerry brown backing and it will be on a seeker 663XXH which should handle 100lb. I originally planned on fishing this rig with either 80 or 100, but then I kept hearing people say you really need a 50 sized reel for a fall 10 day just in case some big tuna show.
