Fishing Report Doc Ski Big Game 90 7 day charter

The 7 day Doc Ski Charter on the Big Game 90 was a great time for all! I've been fishing on Doc's charters for 25 years. They are always fun, and this was no exception. Although Hurricane Rick kept us off the ridge, Captain Mike Jewett was relentless in putting us on fish and the crew did a fantastic job. After a scratchy bite at Guadalupe, we had very good fishing at Turtle Bay, and ended the trip with a wide open bite on reds below San Martin. There were a number of "nubies" on the trip but we all did our best to make sure they had an enjoyable trip. Of course the great give-a-ways that Doc always has (including minatures, gift certificates, and a full-size dorado mount fromWorld Wide Fish Mounts, and a custom Doc Ski Rod with the Grateful Dead logo woven on the rod) just add to the fun. I bet Randy can't wait to use that rod! Thanks Doc for putting this together, and thanks to all the passengers and crew for making this such an enjoyable week. I can't wait till Doc's next charter!!

Hey John great synopsis. Though most of us were really looking for a ridge trip this was as good as it gets. For me the best part was having so many come up to during and after the trip saying how much they enjoyed the trip and how much they learned on the trip. Felt like a mini fishing college. I just wish we had more pictures to share. As usual everyone is so busy catching fish they have little time to take pictures or videos. This one would have really been action packed. Looking into the trips I will sponsor and put together for next year. Maybe 4 this year but you can count on another try for the "Ridge" on an Oct 7 dayer. Missed ya big time Joe. I should put out flyers on next years trips in a couple weeks but right now haveing to deal with my Pops hospilization and driving back and forth to San Gabriel Valley.
