6 LR Boats 10 day after X-mas

I plan to book the RR3 day after X-mas 10 day. What do you think about the strategy of the fleet leaving the 12/26, day after X-mas and returning on 01/05?

Thanks for feedback

I fished that same trip on the Searcher for about 4yrs. That was a long time ago but, it was a great trip. We always seemed to do well. Besides what a great way to ring in the New Year!!!!

I fished that trip on the Indy last year. 6 boats down in cow town. Everyone did steller. We had 20 over 200 with another 4 over 300. I know the Excel had 6 over 300. The Rooster was there also and I'm sure they did well. Wish I could go on that trip this Xmas but it's not in the cards.

Don't worry about the 6 boats leaving at one time. The lower banks give you a big area to fish and the other boats only help in finding the fish.(no code boat comments please!) A lot of it is looking for the blackies. It's "cow" time but leave some for me.
I'm leaving right after you return.

this is probably the only time having 6 boats in the same area is a good thing. 6 boats, usually 4-6 crew in the tubes looking, so somewhere in the neighborhood of 36 sets of eyes scanning the area for fish.
the lower banks can support that many boats as opposed to alijos or another anchor spot that can handle 3-4 at best.
I also fished that trip on the royal star in 2006 and really enjoyed it, its a cow trip, and we did really well that year.
have fun, ring in 2010 with a cow!
