I've had my WFO Back Pack for 5 years with no issues well one ziper fell apart the first or second trip, but thats because I over filled it, called WFO and they had me send it back and they replaced it with a new one, been on numerous trips on boats pangas, have had Humbolt squid all over it , washed it and is still a good bag, I do need a new one because mine looks like its been in a few battles, I would get the same bag again !!!

Hey guys, Thanks for all the positive words. It's great to hear all the stories of use the bags are getting out there and that most of you are very happy with them. As the designer of our bags that kind of feedback is awsome.
As some of you already know at WFO we stand behind our products 100%. Our warranty covers all defects in materials and workmanship for life. I don't believe there's any other soft sided gear bag company on the market today, with that kind of warranty. Most offer only 2-3 years on all soft goods at best.

We do not however cover misuse, abuse or neglect. Our zippers are corrosion resistant, but not 100% corrosion proof (as we all know salt water can raise havoc on most anything man made) this is why we always recommend that if your bag/zippers come in contact with saltwater, at the minimum rinse them with freshwater and dry with a cloth. As many of you have stated you can also use corrosionX, WD40, or silicone spray to really guarantee against corrosion. I understand that Rusty was upset and wants to be able to use the bag he purchased . He hung up very quickly, I don't have his number and I did not get a chance to tell him, again as some of you posted, that most shoe repair shops should be able to fix it. If anyone know him please pass on the info.

Thanks again and Tight Lines,
Doug

WFO are the only tackle systems we sell, One, I believe it is the best soft sided tackle system out there and Two, The owners of WFO are people of the highest charcter. I just wish sombody would make a PDA that would last longer than two years.

I have a few Shimano , but will check out WFO now after reading the reports and Dougs reply.
Sorry your zipper broke, but saltwater will eat anything after a time.
Can you use "Salt Away" on the bags? I use that and fresh water to rinse my boat and gear, then wipe down & WD40.

Just rub some snap lube wax on your zippers once in a while, and they will last forever. Tackle bag, wetsuit, whatever, just rub it on, and forget about it. Have had my WFO bags since the start, and they are still great. Wax it, and forget it.

Love my WFO reel bag! WD40 has a pen style applicator that works well for applying to zippers.

It is very cool that Doug responded to the original thread. However, with a customer/consumer' point of view.. I don't see how Doug or WFO have stepped forward to resolve the problem or how WFO intends to keep Rusty as a long term customer. Is WFO's position to offer Rusty to "look" for a Shoe Repair shop to ultimately resolve the issue without actually looking at the gear themselves??????

Don't get me wrong, I am not for or against WFO gear and I do not know Rusty or Doug.... But in the customer satisfaction strategy.. or how to keep consumers returning for that long term reocurring revenue, Doug or someone from WFO should at least take a look at the bag, then make a determination of "Misuse, neglect or abuse".

I am sure there is more to the story.. but what I have read from Rusty and WFO, the story to date does not make sense.

Doug, you now have Rusty's contact info on BD. You or someone from WFO are now able to take this off line to its resolution. If you have not already pro-actively done so.

My humble thoughts..
regards
