Yep, could be epic. I can't find a pic of John Banta from our November trip last year, but he's joining me for this one, too. Also on board are a couple of Daves. I fished with both of them on Shogun on the April 8 day last year. The first one is my personal best from Alijos from my first ten day back in '05. Bottom row are Dorado Dave and then the other Dave who we discovered in conversation has a fishing getaway mobile home up here in Bishop. Those pics are from April last year.

Sure looking forward to getting on the water for some great fall fishing. Nothing like fresh Dorado for dinner.

Here's a link to the report by Bill Roecker.

Current Conditions

We were on the first 10 day of the season for the American Angler, the M&M Rods charter, 10/2-12/05. On the first day at the Stones, Dave Holliday tied into a cow, but the shark got to it and nipped the tail section just enough to DQ it from the JP and it weighed 197 on the scale on the boat. I caught mine, (135) on the kite and then on the last day I got the 97 on 50 lb gear, good enough for 3rd place in the JP.

First pic is the JP lineup, including Dave's big one, and Angela's Wahoo, and the second pic is of the other side of the cow that got sharked,

Call the office and ask if they have a loaner 60 lb rod for you. If not, and you want to stay with Calstar, then a 765ML would be sweet. If you need to borrow a 60 lb rod and the boat can't supply you with one, I know a guy.

Steve and Andy, good to know you guys are on the same trip. It'll be a pleasure to share the rail with some fellow BD'ers. I have a couple buds coming along also. Now, if i can only find some time to pack up all my gear.....

Wow, hopefully we'll get into some of those whoppers as you did in 05' Steve. What were you guys fishing with? 60# 80#? On my trip last year to the Stones, they only wanted 40# and 50#, unless i was fishing the kite, then 60#-80#.

Have you guys been following the weather and fishing reports down that area?

4 days left and counting.

Chao!

If you are mainly fishing braid, go with the Super Seeker. It'll be easier on you with their softer tip. I'll be bringing my 765ML and 700H. Between the two, i like the 700H a little more.

Wish I was going but my partner Ernie is. Shogun L.R. Veteran. He's a really good guy with alot of good info. Hit him up. Tell him Jeff sent you. Oh ya. Kill a couple for me.
