Raider jigs or spanyid raiders?

I have a dozen or so raider jigs which i bought from Charkbait for last yrs 10 day.
I have since seen the spanyid raiders on ringed hooks website and wanted to know the difference (if there is one other than marketing) between the 2 jigs.

Do they have the same basic DNA and flutter on the drop & swim the same ?

cheers

If you want the straight scoop give Guy at Ringedhooks.com a call. They are the North American distributor for Spanyid and Spanyid USA, which includes Raiders as well as all sorts of other model jigs. Without getting into too much detail my understanding is Spanyid is and was the original creator and manufacturer of Raider Jigs with patents at least in Australia were the jigs originated. Someone else got some sort of rights here in America and are also selling under just the Raider name.
I fish both manufacturers jigs and I have my opinion on which is the better of the two as far as quality control, plating and finish goes but as far as shapes the two seem alike to me. Both companies have a 125 and 200 gram version with only Spanyid having the 150 gram model. Spanyid also offers the jig in more varieties of background colors with one of my favorites being the purple 125 gram model as well as the gold and pink. Others have had luck with the blue background as well. Both companies have the regular gold as well as the Chrome versions of all sizes noted but the tapes are different for each company. I am fairly sure Spanyid may use a bit more actual gold in their plating as the finish seems brighter but that is a guess.

For this fisherman my go to jig for casting or yo yoing to Wahoo and Tuna is always the Raider. Anyway, the above is just my understanding but give the folks at Ringedhooks.com a call so you can get perhaps more of the story.
