Thinking of jumping on this trip...
Any BD'ers going?
Been on the 'Gun a few years back - shorter trip. Good boat - a bit "rustic", but very capable and comfortable. Bruce is an awesome capt...
There's a number of 7's and 8's in early June - I notice that Shogun's leaves a day or two earlier. Am guessing that a day or two head start to the Rocks is advantageous...
Have plenty of hardware in the 20-80# range, so I think I'm set...
Was on the Indy 2 yrs ago, same timeframe/duration, had a blast between Alijos and Cedros. Any thoughts on where this trip might spend most of its' time?

My guess (and that is EXACTLY what this is, a guess), is to look offshore on the way down, fish Alijos a couple of days, then Cedros and Benitos a couple days, then look on the way back.
However, sometimes the water is off at the stones, so the ridge comes into play. Big yellars there this time of year. Quote:

Wahoodad Speaks Truth,
Went on the 8 day in April, direct to the "Rocks". Had the place all to ourselves.
Excellent bite on the Larger Yellows, some guys did limit out on both Tuna and Yellows. Your dialed in with what you have. The crew worked as hard as any I've seen. Watch "Steve" tie on your knots,Look,Listen and learn he is a Master.
This old dog, did learn some new tricks. Don't be afraid to ask questions and watch others. You should have a good trip, Randy's food is some good Chow!
"Garry Owen!"

Fished similar dates back in '05. One of the Baja Dreamer charters on Shogun. Bruce ran the trip for us and ears on the radio revealed poor conditions at the Stones. But the catch we made on Yellowtail was completely off the hook; some of the best Yellowtail fishing I have ever seen and that was on the Ridge. Sure was good to be on the water.
I remember one spot of fish that was just incredible. As we were sliding back on the anchor we let fly with the jigs and these wolfpacks would swarm a jig, knocking each other out of the way in an attempt to get at it. When one of them finally did, it would be game on!

41 hours and counting...
Getting anxious as it's been 2 years since I've done anything longer than 2 days! Hopefully the bite holds up at Alijos - probably won't be as nutty as the Indy's first day, but would be great to get a steady pick. I'm just stoked to get out for awhile as work's been kicking my #&%...
Am hoping to see a familiar face or two, but don't know as of yet. I don't mind going solo as you always seem to meet some great people on these trips...
My goal for this trip is to catch something on the surface - caught many on yo-yo, but only followers on the surface iron. I've got a virgin 533/850H Grafighter to break in, with a fistfull of 45's and a popper or two. Hopefully Bruce is willing to give me a few tips? The office said it's looking like both Bruce and Norm will be on this one, so I imagine if there's fish out there that they'll find 'em...
Good luck to everybody heading out this month - regardless of the trip. I'll try to take some good pics and post a report after I get back...
