Tuf-line plus?

Need advice

Western Filament Tuf-line Plus in hollow braid 130lb? $150 for 1200 yd spool.

Is it junk or worth the risk?

Thanks in advance

James,

Western Filament is one of the major manufacturers. Not much risk, it is likely a good product. I have been told that they make JB Line one.

JB line one I think would be about $160.00 for the same amount, unless there have been price increases. Last time I ordered a 600 yard spool for $80.00 from Jerry.

Jerry doesn't really have a web site.... just give him a call and place your order direct.... really good guy great to talk to. Make sure you have a few minutes, because he will talk to you.

Jerrys stuff is made in Australia, The Western Filament Hollow (Made In America)should be the same as Izors hollow. Just use the search feature on this board.
I have it on all my reels 40# thru 130# and its smooooth stuff, Anglers Center in Newport sells the hell out of it,and its a half the price of JB.

Do your self a favor

From what I know, there are two things that are important about spectra. Will it catch a fish with out breaking, and will I get frustrated when working with it making connection's, loops, etc.
I think all spectra will meet it breaking strength (most, much more), so that is not a issue.
Most important, will you get pissed off when sitting on a rolling boat in a big bite, trying to make a quick splice?

YES YOU WILL

J B Line One is the best there is to work with, Hands Down.
Jerry has gone to a lot of work to come up with the best Spectra out there, and we should take advantage of it.
There is spectra out there that's good, but why piss your self off.

No, I'm not affiliated with Line One

Jerry does not undercut his dealers, unless it's a special order I get my JB Spectra from CharkBait.

JB Line One is not made in Australia. According with my conversation with Jerry Brown both the Spectra and the braiding there of is made in the USA always has been. Where does this mis information come from?

Angler's Center of Newport does not sell Western Filament at one half the price of JB Line One. They sell it at somewhat higher price. I compared the website prices of Angler's Center for Western Filament and CharkBait's prices for JB Line One and found that JB Line One to be somewhat less expensive. Caution: One must not confuse hollow & nonhollow line prices.

After a little checking I found that JB Line One is not higher priced but usually less. Jerry Brown told me that Dealers are free to set their own selling prices so they vary some. Since JB Line One is available in both standard nonhollow and premium hollow braids, perhaps apples were compared to oranges.
