Name: TP Age: 57 Vessel: kayak Location: Pt. Loma Job:retired | Fishin, ciggies, and cigars I was just wondering if anyone out there else feels the way I do about this. I'm a non-smoker and I feel that one of the best parts about long ranging is the ample amounts of ocean fresh air there is out there to breath. There is nothing like it!!!!! That's all cool, but it seems like every boat I get on, at least half of my fellow passengers love their smoking! Even though it is not allowed in most of the salons, most go just outside of it to enjoy their smoke. Most of the time the smoke gets sucked right back into the cabin. That sucks!!!!!
Some days I feel like I smoked a whole pack myself, after spending 12 hours at the rail, downwind from the smokers. That also sucks!!!!!
Now the bad part. I'd say about 90% of those butts are chucked into our ocean after they're finished. The ocean that provides us with food and entertainment and just an overall killer experience.
I'm sure I'll I'll get "ripped" for this post, but I was just curious if anyone else likes the fresh ocean air as much as I do. Peace, out.
I'm sure this won't change in my lifetime and I'll just grin and bear it, but can you imagine a smoke free fishin trip? |

As for at the rail; that's another story.
Just make sure that the crew knows if someone won't move away from a spot that is allowing smoke into the galley.

I have no problem with people smoking if that's what they want to do... I just don't need to smoke with you. I don't think that's too much to ask.
So as to your idiotic post; smoke on the stern where the only person that has to deal with it is you.
And no, the first poster didn't tax the fuck out of them or kick you outside. You can thank you're elected representatives for that.
Get over yourself and make sure that you don't smoke upwind from me on the rail cause I fucking hate that.
Thank you very much and have a nice day.

The only thing better is sharing the moment with great friends---priceless. |

As for me, I used to smoke everything. Now I dont. Gave up cigars, cigs, and everything else. Does it bother me that other people smoke around me? Nope. Better them than me. I feel it a little sometimes too, but know that I caused way more damage in the past so now it doesnt bother me. Just toss them overboard after you tax the hell out of them and kick them out of the galley. While they are floating, maybe you might wanna snag them too. |

I have to say that yes I am guilty of being a smoker. I have never thrown the butts in the water, what I do is knock the ember off and stick em in my pocket till the end of the day when I deposit them in the trash, that being said, I here ya bro. The last 5pack I went on the cap said no smoking on the boat whatsoever, luckily my brother had some chew, we were out all day and it was fine. I notice on the long rangers the crew chews the shit out of the stuff. Your right, us smokers need to be more sensitive to others. I'm bringing tins of chew on my next long range. |

smoking a cigar on the boat. I'm usually pretty considerate about others. But I hate
someone whining about being in the middle of nowhere and all the smoke they inhale.
Next time call the boat and ask if it is a non-smoking boat. |

That means no smoking at ALL on Boeing property. There are countless people that just stand around all day outside and smoke. Its gonna be fun to watch. Many will retire because of the new rule I am sure. |
