Jorge was an outstanding cook and a great fisherman, he worked to the grindstone. He was always in good sprits, thats something that as a chef on a boat is hard to come by. Jorge had been in the business a long time, he cooked on the Red Rooster I, II, & III, and worked for other boats prior to that. As a young man growing up in Tijuana he was a great boxer and had been inducted into the Tijuana Boxing Hall of Fame. Jorge is, and always will be a great father, he had put his children thru college and his eldest daughter is now a Doctor. His kids always met the boat upon arrival.
He has caught quite a few Yellowfin over 300lbs, but his favorite was fishing for Wahoo. He would make his own Wahoo Bombs and would always do well at putting them aboard and cooking them latter.
Its kinda funny for me, I do most of the cooking at home, and not to long ago my wife asked me where I learned to cook, and I said "From Jorge" infact I still have and use recipes that he had written for me. Jorge was a great guy, a class act personality and a top notch angler who will be missed by many.

If anyone else has any great stories about Jorge we would love to hear them.

Rest in Peace Jorge, and thoughts and prayers to your family.

I only had three trips on the Rooster with Jorge in the galley--His sense of humor was the best and his cooking was awesome. I am honored to have shared a what little time with him.
Just a wonderful human being.

Kick ass Wahoo Fisherman I would be struggling with a birds nest after an hour of casting Wahoo bombs Jorge would saunter to the bow grab whatever passengers stick he could find on the way make 1 cast infront of me and pull a 94lber(Wahoo) like it was nothing
and walk back to the kitchen That I will never forget
I hear the Wahoo's get to 300lb in heaven.

R.I.P. Bogii
