Re: The Marlin Club Of San Diego

I keep hearing rumors on SI that the Marlin club is going to lose it's location when the powers to be finally decide what to do with that spot.

I assume the Port District has control but I am hearing that the city of PL has input and that they would like to create a place for people to enjoy the evening walking on SI with more shops and galleries after they are done eating at one of the many restaurants. I have also heard a hotel is possible.

It would be a shame to lose this part of SD fishing history, do you have any news?

Re: The Marlin Club Of San Diego

This has been an ongoing issue for quite a while (Many years). The Port district would like to develop all of that area. For what it is worth they have assured us that The Club will always have a place. This could mean many things. In the meanwhile the port plans keep changing and so does their priorities. The last we heard was that all plans for our area are on hold for now. Their original plans (last ones we saw)called for a common building with the Crows Nest Brokerage and a parking lot where our building is now. They also included a walkway all the way around shelter Island, but have an issue with the fuel dock and existing hotels.
We will include any updates in our newsletter
