The above photo’s are of David Schaffert. David is showing off a nice Rooster fish as well as a Cabrilla and a nice Sierra while fishing last week.

Weather - The North winds have started here in Baja. We have seen the typical fall wind pattern where it is calm for a few days and then we get the North wind that kicks up for a couple of days and then we are back to lovely flat calm seas and warm temperatures. We continue to see day time high’s in the high 80’s and even into the low 90’s on some days. The evenings have been spectacular with very comfortable temperatures in the low 70’s.

Beach - The fly fishing from the beach is still good but on some days the North wind makes it nearly impossible. The days that we have no wind we have plenty of bait that is still being found along most of the beaches. On the days that the North wind is blowing fishing to the North and fishing the area of punta pescadero has been very productive for some very nice pargo and cabrilla. On the calm days we are finding decent numbers of rooster fish, lady fish, and the sierra are starting to show up so having a little wire is not a bad idea.

Inshore - The inshore continues to fish very well for medium sized rooster fish as well as all the lady fish and small jack’s one could want. The sierras are starting to show along the inshore in some pretty good numbers along some of the beaches to the South.

Off Shore - We have seen the action for Tuna pick up over the last few days. Most of these fish are being found with the Porpoise outside between eight and twenty miles. Most of these tuna have been very nice fish between twenty and sixty pounds. As far as Dorado we still have a few in the area but most of them are on the smaller side with the occasional big one showing up. We also continue to see a fair number sail fish and marlin in the area giving those who are hunting the big one a decent shot.
