Another marble job...

This one is built on a Rainshadow RCLB80M with an Alps Centra-Lock seat, Alps XTCXNLG guides, hypalon foregrip, and rubberized non-skid over corktape rear grip. Wraps are: underwrap; 5896 green nylon(no cp)with cobalt blue, royal blue, teal, and green marbling. Guide wraps are 50 NCP cobalt. Inlays are 607 NCP mint and 524 MET aquamarine twisted together. This is also my first attempt at applying Diamondite over FlexCoat....worked great! I attempted some marbling with the Diamondite, and the results were a bit different than im used to. The diamondite remained so thin for so long, it was difficult to keep the colors from blending too much. I opted for the thicker flexcoat for the marbling to get the vivid color definition, and used 3 coats of diamondite for the final finish coats....great stuff!! Each coat of the diamondite cured in a hour and a half or less! I started the the rod at 7am this morning, and handed it to the customer at 8 pm this eve...first time ive been able to cure 4 finish coats in a single day! Hats of to the Swifty Diamondite guys...great product!

Yeah! Now thats what I'm talking about, slick as Glass, nice colors and the inlays put this stick at the top of the class. Great Job Scott.good to see ya up and running bro.

Now are you ready to for a few B85 megamags ?. Magaly called me last Fri to confirm on the colors, which are OxBlood Red / Cobalt Blue / and Black Cherry,( just to get your mind thinking on the possibilties ) which were about to be applied and should be shipping them this week.

Has me thinking too! and again great job.

Re: Another marble job...

Awesome work! I agree that the photos are incredible...and your work looks amazing! Otherwise, I'm wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on how to taper the top of foregrip to blank? Some have a bubble appearance, while others have a perfect taper as in the photos above. I've always used the same...boring...rubber/plastic thread-stop...however do prefer the cone-like or tapered effect in this area of the rod. Any suggestions? Thanks a million!

Thumbs up Re: Another marble job...

Scott,

Thanks again for the awesome work! I can't believe you pulled it off in one day! When I picked it up I jumped on the Ranger 85 for a two-dayer fishing San Miguel Lings and Santa Rosa WSB. The Rainshadow blank is the bomb-diggity! Great action with strong integrity, I can't wait to yank on some big tuna and yellows! The Trinidad looks great with the Alps seat and found a great home! Thanks again bro and good job as usual!
