| West Coast Rodbuilding Show!!! A Southern California Rod Building Event for 2008 is coming together very quickly. This event has been talked about between Builders and Manufacturers for several years now. Discussions at the ICAST Show in Las Vegas last week about such an event has changed the dynamics of this from discussion to commitment. Every Rod Component and Blank Manufacturer that this Event was mentioned to said "We're in".
This Event is already looking much larger than any of us had imagined. The vendor list just keeps getting larger as does the list of Seminars given by some of the biggest names in the business. The whole idea here is to promote Custom Rod Building. Not only for Builders, but by inviting the fishing Public to see what makes a Custom different from what they can buy off the shelf. By having all of the Manufacturers as well as many established area builders on hand, we feel that we can greatly increase the desire of many fishermen to either own or build a Custom Rod.
A venue in Anaheim (to be announced soon) has been selected and a tentative date for May 2008 has been set. This information will be made public in the next week or so when the contracts have been signed. Name That Show Contest!!
In the meantime, Were calling on our BD rodbuilders and freinds... WE NEED YOUR HELP! We've tossed around quite a few names for this event but would like YOUR input before we settle on anything. Something short and catchy that will gain the interest of the fishing public is what we're after. The "contest" winner will receive a pair of lifetime passes for the Event as well as recognition at the Event. We are looking for something that signifies that this is a West Coast regonal event.
As mentioned before, this thing is comming together very quickly, is growing by the day, and is exceeding our expectations already! We need name!
Post your suggestions and stay tuned! |

| Re: West Coast Rodbuilding Show!!! This will be great. I am really looking forward to a get together like this. Just think of all the eye candy in one place at one time. We have needed something like this for a very long time. Also a perfect opportunity for fishermen to get an education on what a Custom Rod really is. |

"WWEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSTTTTT SSIIEEEEEEEEDE (gangsta twang) Wrappers Show"
Cover the O.C. High Schools with flyers. Once they all buy their tickets and get in, just lead them to a stage where "D.J. Doc" can teach them how to spell!
"R-A-P-P-E-R-S - Rappers. Used in a sentance - Snoop Dog is one of my favorite Rappers.
W-R-A-P-P-E-R-S - Wrappers. Used in a sentance - The two hundred people laughing their asses off behind you are WRAPPERS"
Marketing my friend... Cha-ching! No refunds.
OOOOOOH Wait...
"WRAP-A-PALOOSA"! Covers both markets!!
Okay, it's late. I'll sleep on it and try again tomorrow. Or did I just burn up my turn? lol |

If you have plans to attend the 2008 ICRBE Show in NC., I suggest doing it! Dont miss out on what that show has to offer as well. Although this West Coast event is going to be nothing short of AWSOME without a doubt, It is shaping up to be a one day event for the first year, and where it goes from there will be bigger and better each year I'm sure, possibly being a multi-day deal the year after. But the ICRBE is a multi-day event packed with seminars and demonstrations throughout several days. If you have the means, I highly reccomend the ICRBE Show, There will be too much info that you dont want to miss out on, and fellow builders to meet from that part of the country. consider this event a huge, convienient, easy to attend BONUS in addition to ICRBE. This will of course be a great show for the folks who otherwise cant, (or didnt intend to begin with), attend the ICRBE in NC. for various reasons. There will be a 4 month span between the two events, the ICRBE is in Feb, and the West Coast event is in May. |
