Best eyes for the job???

What, in your opinions, are the best eyes, rollers, or combination of the two to use for a rod that is being used with 65 lb and lower spectra??? I was fishing these squid with my 6'6" black steel and I noticed a lot of resistance when reeling... I could actually feel the texture of the power pro dragging across the eyes... Felt kinda like when you drag a saw across a piece of wood to get the blade started... Would putting a roller guide at the tip give any relief???? Thanks for any help...

I only use rollers on heavy gear, my 50lb rod with 60lb spectra backing has Batson Black Stainless Guides wrapped by Yo's. Never had a problem with the spectra as you are describing, but it could be the coating on the PowerPro that is the problem not necessarily the guides.
