Re: rod building kit

C & M Custom Tackle has a "store" on eBay, they sell kits in both Seeker, and Calstar. If I was going to go the kit route I'd look there.

Re: rod building kit

C & M can set you with what you need and they will also do the grips and reel seat for a nominal fee.

I get most of my supplies from C&M since they are close by (sort of), they have a great assortment of thread and other hard to find items too. Email them with what you have in mind if they do not have a kit you like listed on their "store".

Re: rod building kit

Hey Keith
Welcome to bloody decks.

Before you chose just any old kit, decide what what type fish
you want to go after. That should narrow down you choices.

After that check out MudHole Custom Rod Building and Fishing Tackle Supplies there right there in FL.
they have lots of kits to chose from.
they also have lots of good information on there web site, and order
a free catalog. Good luck and post a pic when your done.

Re: rod building kit

I just recently swore off mudhole. Was sent the wrong item too many times, and the shipping charges are too high. I'll never use them again.

Re: rod building kit

This is the guy who hawks the whole kit on E-Bay. I'm not sure if the pricing is good. $99 + shipping versus brand new pre-wrapped for $169.00.

eBay: Calstar BWC6480-C 8' 30-60lb. Deckhand Special Rod Kit (item 170037784754 end time Oct-16-06 18:53:40 PDT)
