Anyone that fishes one, what # do you use for this blank and how much drag can it pull?
I am looking for a lightwieght 7' to fish 60# line with 20# of drag. Can the 700H handle that?
I have a 700M that is great for 40#. The 700H has the same size tip and the butt is .25 larger.
Most comments on the 700XH suggest that it is very, very stiff and shuts off real fast.

go 700XH. A 700H is in my opinion more of a 50 pound stick.

I like the 765ML for 60#, you better be big, strong, and young if you're gonna fish a 700XH with 60#, I think the 700H is a back breaker, can't imagin what the 700XH feels like-jmo

Get a GUSA PREDATOR, 7', 50-80# and at 6.9 oz clearly the lightest 7', 60# blank you can find.

But the Calstar won't break like the lightweight guy will! Weight isn't that important in a 60# blank anyways since the reel will not be a lightweight

If he has any doubts then he can get the composite United Rods URS70XXH-M, 50-80#, again at 6.9 oz 2 of these blanks is the weight of 1 700XH or 765ML

Had planned on building the predator or the United composite. Sounds like it is exactly what I'm looking for, but am concerned about how durable the rod is.
I have built 6 calstars and I like them, they take some serious abuse. Going with the gusa makes me nervous.
This rod will be for yo-yo style jigging, with a TN 40. Wieght is important.
