applying color preserver

Are there any tips or tricks to applying color preserver? like how much I should apply and how much water I should dillute it with. This will be put on a turkshead knot, so I really don't want a slick 'flex coat' look.

I usually don't put any coating on my turks. It also depends on what kind of twine you are using. When I'm using waxed seine twine, I just lock up the ends with a few drops of superglue. If I'm using the cotton cord, I'll put on a few coats of FlexCoat CP. I'd thin it with 1/5 parts water to get better penetration. One coat will be enough to lock the knot in place, but you can add more coats till you get the desired gloss. I'll post some pics later

I don't put any coating on my turks heads either, but when I apply it I use my fingers. It is easier than the brush.

T-Rog, you've seen my Turk's. I put a single coat of CP on mine, just enough to soak in and stiffen it up. No flex coat either, that's how you get the slick look. I don't thin mine out either, full strength, one coat..............
