Color preserver????

I just bought some flex coat color preserver from a shop in my area and it looked preaty dusty, I was wondering what the shelf life on the colorpreserver is and if I should be worried that what I bought is no good or should it be ok??

I buy it in 64oz. bottles and it does get a little chunky after a while. What I do is shake the bottle up and pour it into a baby food jar and add a couple tbs of water. The shaking causes bubbles, so I let it sit for a day before using. Next day, and everytime I use any out of the jar, I stir it lightly and then apply to thread.
I don't recommend getting yourself 64oz bottles, but the same applies to the 2, 4 and 8 oz. bottles--just a lot less water to dilute.
I know there are guys that do not add water, but it works best for me. For me, with just that tad bit of water makes the stuff dry w/o globby spots of dried CP on my threads.

This is for Flex-Coat CP...it's what I use. Also, those chunky parts I just avoid applying them. And if a small chunk gets on the wrap, just wipe it off -right away!-before it dries and then add more CP

another note on CP's, We dont have to worry much about extream cold here in most parts of Ca but if you live or oder CP that can be shipped thru extream cold temp. order your CP NOW or wait til spring. If CP freezes it's DOA

I know it gets a bit chunky sitting in my house (i'm sure due to the heat). Buy a paint strainer from home depot, and run it all through it - it will pull all of the chunks out. Thinning it a bit will definitely help; what I have been doing lately is spinning the rod with the foot pedal, and putting it on while spinning - it goes on super even that way, and dries crystal clear
