| My First Weave Hey guys, This is my first rod build and thought what the hell I might as well make it my first weave also. it kicked me in the balls but it looks good to me. my fishing partners liked it so much that they want me to weave for them. Just wanted to know what you pros thought of it. Sorry but the pic is not the best, camera sucks you know.

| Looks pretty good to me!
I like the font. Makes a simple word weave look pretty classy.

| The rod is nothing special, a Seeker blank for casting swimbaits, Mooseskin grips, fuji reel seat, and fuji Alconite guides.
I used black underwraps with black overwraps and silver trim bands.
Now that I have some confidence, I will go a little more wild on my next creation (complete with pics).
thanks for the input guy.

Nice looking weave. I haven't tried any yet but if my first one turns out that good I'll be pretty happy. How many hours did you put into it?

That's one fine job!
You say it's a weave so I beleive you so forgive me but the photo looks photo-shopped. I'm sure it's just the poor focus though.

I assure you ray, it is not photo shopped, it took me close to 8 hrs. of mind numbing wrap after wrap, since I don't have a weaver, I just used tape, I really did not like the tape method, could you please let me know what you use.

I have the 25/40, 80, & 100 thread jig sets made by Doc Ski and highly recommend them. I also have the Wonder Weaver designed by Jim Upton and use it too. The Wonder Weaver, althouh requiring a bit more room and set-up is the only tool that allows for doing 360* weaves or weaves on multiple axis without using a second jig set on the opposite axis. It's also an awesome tool! I sometimes use the Wonder Weaver for my left side and one of Doc's jigs for the right side.
Most weave patterns that fit well on rods and are sold by Doc & others are less than 100 design threads so jigs work for many many patterns. I've not seen a jig set capable of holding more than 100 threads.
The Wonder Weaver can hold 180 design threads!
