Has anyone ever ...

Done a Tiger wrap with variegated thread such as Sulky's embroidery thread? Use the the same thread for the top thread as the base threads?
I am wondering how it would look if you only used a single variegated thread on the base instead of two threads.....

Do a test wrap and see how it looks. I think with just one wrap on the bottom there would be no real tiger effect. However, a 3 color variegated base with 3 on top and two sac's would look killer!

While I haven't done any using the Madeira, I have using old Sunset and Gudebrod "twists".Bobby is right about using 3 colors for the base wraps. They even come out really nice when used for the top layer. Wish I had some decent pics of them for you guys.

Glens idea is great. I have used Varies in the base with other threads and they a solid open on top. Nice results with tones of potential. You know the joke about so many fish and so little time. Same with tiger combos. If you do tests it would be nice to share the results with all. If we all do that then we can have some super options. Here are some of my experiments with twists. Sorry the pics arent all that great but that is common with tigers
