| Waterslide decal solution
For those of you that have been struggling with the waterslides lately, Along with the things that we went over in the last thread. Here is the shape I cut mine into and never, Or very rarely have a problem. With this shape it's easy to slide it just a smidge to the left and hold it down on the blank with your thumb, Then with your opposite thumb nail, Grab the other point and slide the backing paper out, Slowly, And the decal usually falls perfectly in place. Squeegie out from the middle out while holding the opposite end with your finger and repeat the other direction. Hope this helps, It works for me

One thing I forgot, After the decal is positioned and squeegied down, Let it set up for a couple minutes and trim the pointy ends with a sharp razor. Then you wont have any sharp corners to catch on your brush or spatula when applying finish

Thanks Bill. I still think my issue is the water here is hard, very hard. I can get the decal down and with the edges not courling up. Problem is it wont slide at all, it wants to grip the blank. Cant think of any other reason since finish is finish and the decal paper is the same. But the saliva last time made all the difference and it slide easily. Just a little more DNA on the rod is all.

You might end up unknowingly cloning a dinosaur with the DNA 'that could us exterminate' (X-ray Spex).

Believe me Greg, i was fretting the DNA on the rod, but my DNA is most likely all over a rod by the time its finished.
If they want to do me in they'll try to do it this way or another.
It's all good son... "who jah bless, no one curse"

Gonna try it, thanks. |
