Candy Apple Bass Rod

Another one for Tommy Gomes' arsenal. I've been wanting to try something a bit different with the carbon fiber grips so used Tommy as a guiena pig
The blank is a GUSA factory red, So in keeping with the red theme, I mixed some dye that I used to make lacquer stains with, In with the resin I used for the carbon fiber and came up with this candy apple carbon fiber grips along with some cosmic looking light show art and pinstripping, And Tommy will be pimpin' fo sho
Still gotta shape the eva butt cap and blend it when the finish is hard enough to handle with out leaving fingerprints, And finish a couple guidewraps

Fireworks!
The grip pattern shows up nicely thru the candy apple color.

Great looking work!!!

How many ounces of resin did/will this rod need when complete?

The striated light show effect looks really cool to me.

Not sure, Not very much though, Most of the resin is squeezed out after impregnating the carbon fiber. The depth is in the high gloss urethane finish coats (4) in which the first 2 coats had the dye added to as well

Beautiful Bill. There seems to be no end to your creativity. One question about the carbon fiber grips though. Are they slippery in sweaty hands?
