I like the butt cap, but I hope you realise you still have a live primer in there.
A decent knock will set it off unless you filled it with oil or something to render it useless.
They don't have a huge amount of power, but given that the rod is sealed it could
A: Just blow the primer out.
B: Blow the whole cap out
C: Split the blank
D: Scare the crap out of you!
From memory 12GA, 20GA etc is the number of lead balls that diameter to the pound.
