Question blank question

I am trying to find a suitable blank for a build. It is going to be used for Steel head fishing. Needs to be 2 piece between 8' 6" and 10" light to medium light power and fast to extra fast action. The problem I'm having is that most in these powers and lengths are moderate to slow. Thanks in advance!!!!

Most Hotshot blanks in that size range are X-Fast, but will be more in the medium power range.

The Rainshadow "XST's" are fast action and they DO offer medium-lights in 9'6" and 10'6" 2pc.

I got a Shikari ST1004 (10' stealhead blank) 2 piece, rated 8-12# with med/fast action that I can give you a deal on. It's a gray blank. Pm if interested.

Couple of questions.....
Are you looking for a casting rod or a spinning rod?
Are you fishing from the bank or boat and what technique will you be using.

I live up in the NW and do a lot of steelhead fishing and have a dozen high quality rods that each have their own special use.

My brands vary but lets look at the blanks Batson offers as a starter. Their RX8 XST line is sweet.

XST1024 - Used for casting bait and over all my most used rod. 8'6" 8-12lb fast. Mine are mod - fast in this model.

XST1084 - 9', 8-12lb fast action and is a killer stick to throw spoons/spinners with.

XST1263 - 10'6" fast action 8-12lb. I would use this for bobber and jigs. The extra rod length allows you to keep your main line off the water for a natural presentation.

XST1141 -9'6" 4-8 lb. These we use for side drifting from a boat. solid rod that can handle a steelhead in the high teens while fishing small lb line. All of mine are spinning rods in this model. These are mod fast and very fun to fish.
