JAWS Vertical Jigging Blanks

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be building a rod to be used primarily for veritcal jigging but also for tossing irons and some other artificials for pelagics. I was looking at ACIDrod at the JAWS JI7603 rated 20-40 lb. I'm going to be putting an Progear Oceanus 30 on it with 30 lb line (probably 65 spectra backing). I want a 7'6" length for casting distance so this rod meets that requirement but the only other jigging rod I've made is a Phenix 700H so I'm not sure about these other brands? Has anybody used these? I don't mind getting another Phenix because I love the one I have, I just enjoy trying new blanks.

Also I see that Rainshadow makes some vertical jigging blanks as well. Have any of you guys used those for a similar application?

I have built 3 and love them all. Great backbone and lifting power. Only one problem I haven't had the chance to REALLY give it a test on some nice quality fish, but my buddy has and he has several also with nothing but great reviews. My 2 cents.

Cool, Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to go with the JI7604 actually because it has a 30-60 rating. I want something similar in power to my Phenix 20-60(700H) so I figure a 30-60 with be closer than a 20-40. Also, with the added length I think the heavier one will work out a little better for what I'm doing.
