Lightbulb Winding Check idea

Don't know if anyone has thought of using a ring(jewelry) for a winding check. Now don't get me wrong not like a diamond ring or anything like that, because that would be just stupid. But you can get some decent rings fairly cheap. Especially, if you are making a rod for a female. Just an idea I had.

that's a pretty good idea, and i'm pretty sure you can get a ring fitter to stretch it out if needed

I have used Versani (trendy silver from New York) rings for windchecks several times. There is no real need to re-size. Wind checks (metal) do not need to be re-sized or reamed out. As long as you buy ARC ring that is bigger than the blank diameter, you can build up with thread to the exact size. If I still have a couple of samples in my shop, I will post them for you.

You have a good idea--it is just many times more expensive than regular windchecks.
