This one is for a friend who wanted something "big and bold" and different. Took a page out of several of ya'lls books a little venture (sideways chevies, a little Capt G(cork tape tie off tip), a little putter (marbling), and a little bushman (thanks for the guides recomendation bush)

The second one is a favor for a co worker whos 5 year old wanted to get daddy a rod for fathers day. After telling me the story, I told her "you know I build rods as a hobby" she ordered the components I told her. A little late, but I think daddy will be surprised. Waiting for her son to come over so he can personally sign and dedicate the rod ( should be interesting, a five year old asked to right on a thin round blank )
This one I took a little out of Docs Tiger book, three thread base black, blue dunn and royal blue, black over with 2 sacrificial threads. I wanted it to stay as wavy and tiger like as possible so did little burnishing. 3 coats of highbuild and the thing is crazy motion, messes with your eyes!

Those are both excellent! The colors on the chevron really pop and the tiger is perfect.

Gio. those are awesome! Beautiful work! Dammed if I can tell what guides I suggested though! I'm guessing ALPS, or maybe Batson braced black boat guides on the jigstick?? Either way, turned out awesome!

Actually they are the perfection heavy braced stainless guides you recomended. A while back anyways . I had asked you about not having inserts etc.... since I had seen something similar on some of your builds.

That marbling on the cork tape tie-off looks sweet!
I like the chevron also, as it is the exact opposite of the typical "busy" crosswrap.
"Different" is what custom is all about, IMO.
