Thursday night update...
Spoke to Doc yesterday about 9AM and he sounded real good. Sounded like he'd been beat silly, but he was eating, joking around, saying how he could even out-fish me in that condition, etc...
I guess the surgeon made the mistake Tuesday of saying 'it went so well, he may even be out tomorrow..." Rocky knew the head of nursing who was saying "huh-uh, not after that, he needs to be here a couple of days..." Well which one to you think Doc listened to? Yup, he went home late yesterday.
This morning Rocky just said "it was a long night.... He felt GREAT when he was on the morphine drip, but they didn't send that home with him..." uh oh...
He's hurtin'. I spoke to Doc tonight and he's in a lot of pain. He kind of joked saying the Dr. said the worst of it should be over in 4-5 days... "oh boy". He's a tough old Pollack and even though I've wished excruciating pain on him more than once, it sucked actually hearing him in it. For now he's just biting on a piece of hypalon and sucking it up.
He DID say that he's had a couple of looks at BD while he's been down and it really cheered him up. "That's a good bunch of people that actually care about each other", he said. Good thing he didn't find all the posts where we were baggin' on him. John, yours was brutal. You're on his charter at the end of the month, aren't you? lmao Good luck with that...
Anyway, keep him in your thoughts and he should be back soon.

I talked to him today and he was in pain. He's not a whiner, so I know he's really hurting. As far as getting abused by Doc when fishing with him, thats how he says "I love you"...

Spoke to Doc again this morning and he's still biting the hypalon...
Not so bad when he's lying down/still, but getting up (like going to the computer) just kills him where the work was done near the tops of his legs. He's supposed to walk "X" amount of time per day and it's nothing to look forward to. Dr. told him that the fire he's feeling when he gets up should start to lighten up Sunday.
Hang in there Dude...

Spoke to Doc yesterday afternoon - the Fire he is feeling has not stopped but he is dealing with it. I will check on him again today; but he did say that he is enjoying the emails he has read here on BD.

Well gang it has been a week since this LESS INVASIVE(?) procedure was done and I can tell you I will live but I can also tell you ALL DOCTORS ARE LIARS. Not fishermen type liars where no one gets hurt, we be talking the bald face variety. The senario I was fed pre op is nowhere near the truth. When they say there will be some discomfort let me tell you it is not even close. My left leg is doing OK but the right is like a hamstring pull on steroids.(They did a cut down on each Femoral Artery to do the procedure Today is the first day I have had any sign of improvement but at least it is looking up this morning. Still having trouble staying in any position other than laying down on my left side but some reduction in pain. I am sorry I have not been able to keep up with all the emails. I will try to catch up over the next few days, but so far I can get about 10 to 15 minutes an hours without going over board on the pain. If you have sent me a personal email and havent gotten and answer please understand and know I will get caught up as soon as I can. Bottom Line is I owe all of you big time for your support, wished and prayers. This is exactly the reason I have always loved this craft. Rod builders Rock(and fishermen). I am guessing I will be back to 100% in 3 to 4 weeks and then have to face some other issues picked up on the CT scan but we are doing everything one step at a time. I just cant say it enough. THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
