how to save tiger wrap?

for my first firetiger i decided to select 3 colors: base: anthracite metallic-silver metallic-dark blue metallic, top layer: anthracite metallic.
I've made 2 mistakes, first, i did too much burnishing in some points, so i can finaly only see cloth circle , second mistake , i shouldn't have use anthracite metallic as to layer, because it takes too much light and bottom layer doesn't come throught very much.
But in 50% of the tiger wrap effect is pretty cool, so i decided to try to save it instead of remove it.
i see 2 possibilities:
after have read Docskin thread i've seen i can save it by wrap another top layer, but i have 2 question, according 2 my the 2 combination of thread i used, what color of thread would you choose to save my tiger, i was thinking of NCP black or dark blue, not metallic this time.
The other question is should i burnish this new layer?

The other way i see is to wrap a clear mono layer, i've tried it and see that effect is cool but quite dule, so i wonder if dull effect comes out with epoxy?
thanks for your help.

Both options would work thou I think I would lean toward the black thread to tame the metallics but it would be nice overall. I would burnish the top wrap lightly like I did on the recent blue one . Please post the pictures.

I'm in a similar situation as you guys were/are. I did a tiger with met. purple, met ice blue, and black on the bottom. Top layer was hot pink with 2 sacrificial threads. The problem I had is that the tiger came out a lot more pink than I expected since I did two sac's. I thought the bottom layer would show through better with 2 sac's instead of 1 and also because it was metallic and the top layer was pink ncp. The tiger-effect itself turned out pretty good though, just a little to pink for me. I think it would have turned out a lot better if I switched and did the pink on the bottom in place of the black and then used the black on top.

I'll post pics when I fix it. Thanks for the tips guys.

Well the mono overwrap is pretty non-dull,,, except for a few things....
--If you put a good thickness of epoxy over your bottom layer, as you would for a tiger, then the mono effect is heavily muted. The closer the mono is to the thread, the better
--If you don't find the sweet spot in terms of mono diameter, the effect can be quite random. I've run thry 20# to 80# is mono matching, and it makes a difference.
--The CKW doesn't actually take much burnishing on the underlayer, so too much burishing could lose the effect as well. I'm pretty happy with the tests just with little or no burnishing.
