My first Tiger Wrap

Here is my attempt on building my first rod. I want to thank all the guys from the Orange County Rod Building Classes. This rod still needs about 2 more coats of finish but I love how the Tiger wrap came out.

I used a met. red, orange, & black (all size C NCP) for the base wrap. Then size D red garnet on the top wrap.

I have a question though, how many coats of finish do you guys put on your rods?

First rod? Damn brother, that looks excellent for a first rod. You did a great job and the guys certainly got you ponited in the right direction. Nice colors too. As a guy told me many years ago on a rod i built, THAT IS REALLY SHARP. One of my buds laughed at that for years.
