Your 2 favorite jig sticks

If you could have any 2 jig sticks (one light and one heavy) what would you choose (model numbers and length) and why? I like the baby Ulua for all the 1-1.5 day stuff and the Calstar 6480 for everything heavy. What would all you tackle hoes out there choose?

8 footers do fine for me, also because I ahve to travel across the world to use them. I love the Calstar 800L, M and H - the L is a great overnite rod, the 800M I can fish 40 on a 533 and the 800H is a 533 with 50. I got a 332 on the 800L - have had 'em all for years now and I'll never part with 'em.

How do you Yanks define a "Jig Stick"
Here in Oz, jigging is typically if 100ft of water or more and done pretty much vertically.
Pump & wind as fast as you can. Rods are typically on the short end of the scale, so I'm interested in how you use an 8ft rod. Gives the fish a ton of leverage on you?

Yeah Aussie in West Coast land I typically use longer rods on 1-1.5 day trips but on longer trips (4+ days) I will use a 700MH or even the 6480 which has plenty of backbone for bigger fish. I use my jig rods for everything from surface to heavier jigs but when typically fishing heavier iron I will go to a shorter rod like the 700MH. I had it explained to me b4 that when Wahoo fishing it is nice to have a longer rod to keep a nice bend in it to keep that Wahoo locked onto your jig and just wind wind wind, that is where I like the 6480. I know certain people like to fish longer rods all the time though even for heavy iron and was just curious what people here on BD would choose if they only had 2 options because some people I know (big time tackle whores) have 6-10 jig rods alone!

You are going to get a lot of different opinions on this one...

How about my 3 favorite rods.

Light surface iron.
Calstar 900M Graphiter with a Trinidad 16N spooled with 50# Power Pro spectra and 3-4' of 40# fluorocarbon.

Heavy surface iron.
Seeker Ulua 93H (original 9'3" cut) with a Trinidad 20 spooled with 65# Power Pro spectra and 3-4' of 40# fluorocarbon.

REALLY heavy surface iron rod.
GUSA Wahoo rod with a Trinidad 20 spooled with 80# Power Pro spectra and 3-4' of 60# fluorocarbon. Note, I would make sure you've changed out the hooks on your jigs with Owner Stinger hooks before you fish this one with heavy drag. I've straightened several hooks on Salas 5X's with this rig.
