Question Make mine Ocelot, please.

Like most of the rods I have been doing lately (a lot of black on black, standard stuff) , I was not going to post this but...
...When the customer came in to pick up the 60 XH bass spinning rod, with a tiger wrap all the way to the stripper guide, he said "Wow, looks great. Looks like an Ocelot".
Having no clue what he meant, I said "Yes, it really does".
When he was out the door, I quickly googled "ocelot".

Camo grips are what he choose, matched with a black aluminum hood Fuji reel seat.

A real ocelot. Damn, it may not look like the wrap, but they sure do look cool.

Single foot Pac Bay holo ring guides. I have built a lot of rods with Fuji Sic and these Pac Bay single foot guides, and I thing the Pac Bay product is much better. These larger SiC Fuji guides, especially the titanium frame one, break, and the rings are very easy to chip/crack, which will cut your line easily.

Finally, I would like to thank Doc and VLR John for answering my questions about burnishing patterns with the tiger wraps.

Now you are going to have to do a step by step on the Ocelot wrap.

A "Cammo-toed" up rod would be nice!

Hi Denis,
Like anything else, it takes practice, and I am still learning. Nice to have people like Doc that are willing to answer you relentless questions.

To get better, I did a campaign where I did these wraps for free for any new rod order; I have now done well over one hundred "tigers".

BTW, this is a very thin spinning rod; I did not burnish at all, and I did not used any coating between the bottom, and the top layers.
When the wrap was completed I put three coats of Classic Heavy over the two layers of bare thread.

I wonder if anybody can duplicate the above? It only takes a few minutes to do...
