yes and no.
If you want to keep the guides in place you may not be able to replace the seat (if ithas one) and or use hypalon or eva grips. you could use any form of deckhand style (corktape, shrink wrap, tuna cord, sein twine, etc). by working backwards (from the butt end up) it will limit your choices other than deck hand style.
If it is a nice blank or has sentimental value to you it could be stripped completely and rebuilt to your liking.
