| Need a couple rods built
I'm looking for someone to build me a couple solid fiberglass rods. Length between 6-6 1/2'. Alps triangle aluminum reel seat. Whatever the best guides are that don't have inserts - no rollers. Want the grips to be hypalon. Want it to be set up just like the Okuma Cedros jigging rods. Will be using 80 lb. Ande Monster yellow in 80 lb. test. About 25 lbs. max drag. Probably be using a Daiwa Saltiga SA-50 with greased carbontex drag. If anyone is interested send me a p.m. with a idea on price. If you need more info, let me know. Thanks, Chuck.

No vertical jigging rods will be 100% fiberglass. Take a look at the Jaws jigging blanks at acidrod.com. They are 7'6" but you could always have them cut to size. Most jigging blanks are Carbon/fiberglass/graphite mix

I'm not looking for jigging sticks. Just want the rods to look like the Okuma's.

By the way the Cedros rods are designed for vertical jigging. Are you looking for a yo-yo setup? Just asking.

Steve P., aka Rooster, built a complete (32-rod) set of rods for me. They were on time, on budget, and most importantly they look really spectacular. Moreover, he is a very knowledgable fisherman and rod-builder, so he was able to help me get exactly what fit my needs. I highly recommend him, and when the economy turns, I am going to have a few more rods build by him. Good luck, Rick

I have seen the Jaws blanks, and I feel they won't have the give you might be looking for while pulling on those big cats. Heavy fish like this require a more parabolic style of blank as not to pull the hook (imo).
I think you should look at the Super Seeker SS-CJBF65-XH or even the SS-CTSF63-XXH.These both come 6'8". Unfortunately, the Alps triangle seats are too small to fit these blanks. Alps does make a different seat that'll fit, tho. See the 2nd pic...
Oh, and guides w/o inserts...I'd stay away from those as well. Here is a pic of American Tackle's Titan titanium framed guides with an awesome insert. The rod it's on is a 7'2" 100# tuna stick...they'll hold up fine. These are all JMHO's.

RCJB84 7' 30-60 -fast -Hvy is a bad Catfish blank , saltwter jig/boat, eglass inner blank overwrapped lower 2/3 rx6 graphite, I'm building a set of flathead rods now, Nice firm fast tip,and a backbone that will pull them from the stumps on the hookset. 100LB cat No problem. IMHO.
