Had a bunch of fun at the OC rod building class tonight. We decided to set up a charter for the guys who have attended the class for some time in late July. So, to the guys who were not there, check in with me or Jerry if ya wanna go fishing.
I was super stoked that my intern from 2008, Mark Kanow, made it by tonight. He is now attending USC and on summer vacation, but back to wrapping a few sticks before fall classes start. I can't think of a better way to spend the summer....Here are some pics of the kid setting up his new jig stick. It's a Calstar BTG 690-J.

Sorry you missed out, Lawrence. Ed is going to show us some cross wrap techniques at the next class on Wednesday, June 17th. That class should be very cool!

OC Charter

[QUOTE=BakerStBobby2;1353554]Had a bunch of fun at the OC rod building class tonight. We decided to set up a charter for the guys who have attended the class for some time in late July. So, to the guys who were not there, check in with me or Jerry if ya wanna go fishing.

Would like to see if anyone in the rod wrapping class is interested in the charter. The jig Strike can take 16 people for 295 for a 1 1/2 day with food. There is a 15 dollar mex permit fee. Dates are leaving July 19, fishing 20th, back in on the21 at 6am. Will announce this on Weds. let me know if interested. Shoot me a pm to get added on the list.

Alright guys,
Looks like we're in for another treat tomorrow night, as Ed F. and Steve Patterson from Rooster Rods will be showing off their stuff. Ed will be doing a cross-wrap seminar and Steve will give the guys some tips on using Madera thread. I'm really looking forward to the class.
Nooooobies are always welcome to come by and check out the scene!

Another fun night of sharing knowledge and fishing stories last night. It was our largest turn out so far with 14 guys showing. Thanks to nooobies Lawrence and Scott for showing up, even though the 405 was a mess, Lawrence spent 2 hours to get here. Way to go dude!
Here is a pic of Ed explaining the details of a closed-end cross wrap.
