We had a couple of guys come up from SD at last nights class. Steve T. (8 week) showed us how easy marbleing can be, and Ken the Bushman gave a great turks head seminar. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to come by and hang out with us!
These classes are turning out to be a lot of fun and the guys are learning tons of new skills in rod wrapping.
Here are pics of Steve and Ken, as well as a pic of some work completed by Erik, Wayne and Ed....More pics of last nite to come soon.
Bobby~

What an informative evening. Almost too much info!! Some projects are just too intimidating to attempt without some instruction. Thanks to Steve and Ken, they are no longer intimidating. I now feel that I can take on the challenge of marbeling and doing a turks head. Two things I've always wanted to learn. Thanks a bunch. Ed F

Hey, we had a great time there. Good to meet all the OC crew. Bobby, your shop is awesome....Its a great environment for the class and I'm sure it inspires some great rodbuilding. You're all welcome to come on down to San Diego anytime!

| pigments...
Thanks Steve and Ken for the awesome tutorials. Man, we certainly covered quite a bit last night in a very short time. We're going to see some very cool stuff come out of BD wrappers soon, i'm sure and it's thanks to guys like you and Bobby for stepping up to help out the noobies.
I did some quick ebay searching and found some VERY interesting stuff on pigments. They've got the Pearl Pigments that Steve had, plus it seems that eyeliner is a very pigmented concoction. Check these out:
Japanese Eyeliners...
They're $6 for 10 colors, shipped, and this company offers 3 different sets. I ordered up all 3 sets to check them out. Heck, for $18 shipped, I couldn't say no.
My only concern is that the pigments aren't powered fine enough, though if my GF's make up is any indication, this stuff is overkill!!!
i'll let you guys know how it goes when they arrive from Hong Kong!

you guys are a great bunch to be around. hope we provided a little insight into turksheads and marbling. like i said, it's really not that difficult, just takes a little practice.
Bobby, great shop, i could spend hours just poking around and looking at all the stuff you have. a true tackle store! if any of you rodbuilders in the orange county area haven't been to his shop, you're missing out. Not only does he have all the supplies, he has the knowledge to answer any of your questions.
The OC & SD rodbuilding classes should have a joint meeting sometime. Now that would be a kick!
thanks again for putting up with ken and me. hopefully we were able to add something to the class.

Ken & Steve,
Thanks for the kind words about my shop and the class we're doin'!!! It was an honor having both of you guys there on Wednesday.
Here are the pics I promised.....Some of Ken showing us the 'ropes' on tying turksheads and some of Steve demonstrating marbling techniques. The other pics are of finished products.
Enjoy........
