Damn it Bobby I missed out, it sounds like I missed all the fun. My Aunt picked the wrong week to pass away (RIP). Hopefully we can get somewhat of the same line up on the 20th.

What your doing Bobby is absolutely awesome. Most guys would and are charging a fee for a class like that. Despite the fun it's still work. SALUTE!

SALUTE! | I totaly agree Raymond. The fact that he opens the shop for us is awesome and the fact he takes HIS time to show us the ropes is priceless. The class also comes with a free comedy show where half the time we are laughing are butts off. Thanks again Bobby. |

What gets my goat is Bobby's generosity in the whole deal. He gives a discount on all rod building components to attendees and even installs components like grips/cork tape for free, while showing "the class" proper techniques and tips! That's a class act.
I also wanted to thank Bill Batson for the donations to the giveaways. I promise i'll build the nicest rod i've built yet out of that Rainshadow blank and SS alps guides and reel seats (when they arrive).

Hey Guys!
Looks like Steve T. (8 week wonder) has offered to come up from S.D. one night to show us some marbleing techniques. I'm really looking forward to that!!! I'll keep everyone posted as to when he'll be showing up.

I feel the same way about these guys going out of their way for us. This type of sharing wasn't always available in the past. I wanted to make the drive to Orca's but could never put it together. Bobby's shop works for me and I'm very thankful. I believe in paying it forward and will buy all my supplies from Glenn's Tackle, Acid Rod and Batson. This is a great opportunity for beginner, novice and pros to get together and share ideas, techniques, equipment...
I've been building rods for almost 30 years, both professionally and as a hobbiest. After having some kids and building my dream shop with a full rod building section, I'm ready to get back into it. My techniques are old school and I'm interested in stepping it up. I attended the WCCRS seminars and picked enough brains there to let me know that I had a lot of learning to do. Now by going to these classes it just reaffirmed this. I will attempt to build my Glenns Tackle/Batson project rod at the classes. I can contribute by giving some instruction on a closed cross wrap class. I was taught by some of the best in their day (Dale Clemens, Gil Rowe, Chuck Bethrum and Bob Dietz). At the next class I'm going to do some inlays in the hypalon and build the whole handle at the class. For all you guys that have been reading this post and thinking about showing up... do it... before one of these old farts dies and the classes are cancelled!!! Ed F

It's been about a week since the last 'class' now. Some of you have started wrapping and maybe even finished the rods that ya set up last week. I'm looking forward to seeing how you all are doing on your newest sticks!
Next class will be on the 20th. Nooobies are always welcome!!!

Tonight's 'class' should be very informative and a bunch of fun. Steve T. (8 week wonder) will be coming up from S.D. to show us some marbeling techniques, John Mahan has offered to show his cross wrap ideas, and I will be doing the fininsing touches on the tiger wrap I started a couple weeks ago.
Steve mentioned a surprise guest might be coming up from SD with him, as well....
I'm looking forward to some actual fun, as opposed to the long night at the MLPA meeting last night. See everyone at the shop...Noobies are always welcome!
