The high-light of my night was when Oscar(combatvetfisher) showed up to help me hang my American flags in the shop! Oscar is a lifer in the USMC and is helping me out with great advice as my son is going into the Air Force soon! So, thanks again Oscar...
On to the rod wrapping now...I've been teaching these guys that the most important tool a rod builder has is his/her razor blade. "If a wrap sucks, cut that sucker off and do it again". It was not what David wanted to hear, as he wrapped the 1st base wrap on his new RCLB 70 three times till he got where I thought it was right. He agreed, but was getting pissed off...lol. He got it right and was proud of the work he did. Leo started the wrapping on his RCLB with a tiger wrap just like David did last week. John from the Rod Builders Guild showed nooobie, Oscar, how to set up a rod handle with hypolon and reel seat. Myke, yes Myke with a "y", brought in a rod that he wanted me to teach him how to repair a guide. Then there was Tom and Damon helping out with everything they could.
And as you'll see in some of the pics below, we have a lot of fun at these get togethers...I let John and then Oscar try to open a can of denatured alcohol with no luck. After 5 minutes of laughing my butt off, I finally brought out the channel locks to get it pried open.
This is one of the cool things about the class, everyone helps out everyone else!
Remember, Noooooobiiiesss are ALWAYS welcome.
Here are the pics!

Some day Scott, some day. I blew a tire on the way down to the WCCRS last May
& it only did $3000 in damage to my Toyota Tacoma! THAT SUCKED but the trip was
worth every bit just to be there for the day.

| If you’re new like me and you want a place of camaraderie, friendship and lots of fun while also learning from everyone this is the place to do it. I had a ton of fun and learned a great deal had tons of questions and all got answered, so now I am even more anxious to start wrapping. This group of guys is absolutely some of the greatest I have met in a long time even through all the places I have been with the military. Thanks guys I look forward to next class and I hope my wife gets me something good since my big 27 B-day is this Sat 17. I have trained her well in the past so I hope she comes through for me this time. Well any way guys I am at work right now so I have to get off but once again thanks for all the knowledge you gave me and believe me I am very great full to be around such good people take care see you soon. |

| Jim Upton's weave seminar
We were fortunate enough to have Jim Upton drop by and teach us all a little bit about weaving techniques last night. What a great teacher he is! Thanks again for coming by, Jim!
As always, a few new guys to the class came by to check it out. All nooobies are welcome at every class. Next one will be on the 18th of November.
Here are a few pics. The 1st pic is a weave called "Dragon Master". It took Jim about 90 hours to complete!!!
