Hey Bobby hope things are well. I've been really busy but I actually got to fish some of my rods finally, sorry I haven't been able to make it lately. Hopefully next month. This Wed is the old ladys Bday so you know that shit ain't gonna happen. She can turn ghetto in 2.9 seconds flat . But the good news is things are well if you know what I mean, thanks for the help.

Had a grrreat time talking rod building and other fishing related and not so fishing related topics tonight. Nooobie Tim stripped down a bass rod to re-wrap and David & Leo finished off installing their foregrips. Here are a few pics....

The class will be canceled that night. We will be up in the LBC at the MLPA meeting. You should be there, too!

What a great night it was for the OC Rod Building Crew! Steve and Lori from All American Roller Guides dropped by and gave a spectacular seminar on all the roller guides they offer. John Mahan from Rod Builders Guild Magazine won the $125 gift certificate that Steve gave us. Everyone else received a coupon good for 15% off any of thier products, as well.
After all the give aways were taken care of we got right into building new rods. Leo & David marked out guide spacing while Myke wrapped the top wrap of a tiger for his new stick. David's 1st wrap on his new rod was a tiger wrap too! Jumping in with both feet can never be wrong....
Here are the pics!

| Tiger Wrapped Rod Hi guys... Awesome class last night! Steve and Laurie are great people. Their guides are insane! The attention to detail and quality control they put into their pruducts is very impressive... I was not aware of that before. Plus I liked the fact that they make a tremendous effort to ensure that there materials and production efforts are all "American made." Unless quality does not allow. Thank you so much for hosting the classes and thank you All American Roller Guides for the raffle! Next week I will bring in some Custom Rod Builder's Guild T-Shirts for a give away. Bobby here's a picture of the rod I brought in yesterday! |
