Another installment of rod classes are in the books. We had a bunch of newbies show, which is always really cool. We did a little basic rod wrapping to show the guys how easy and fun wrapping can be. Also, I was trying some marble techniques for the 1st time. That was fun!
I gave the camera to Scott (shredking), he took 32 pics, so I'll have to sort them out and post the ones that are BD worthy later 2nyt.
Thanks to all that showed up!!

These are the pics from our class last night. The 1st pics are of me in my 1st 'attempt' at marbeling.....I need more practice.
The newbies asked me to show them basic rod wrapping 101 in the following pics. You can see me picking colors, measuring the guides, marking the base wrap and finally putting thread on the stick.
I did the 1st base wrap while explaining every move. I made sure to be as descriptive and clear as possible while showing them the wrap. Then one of the guys asked me to do the next one in real wrapping speed. Basically he wanted to see how fast a wrap could be measured, marked and wrapped w/o talking about each movement I made.
I kept hearing the reg's say "Bobby makes it look easy"...I said, "...it is easy".
I'm writing all this to let the new guys know that wrapping does not have to be some wild and intimidating thing you'd like to try, but think it's too hard. With a little guidance, it's a piece of cake. Next class is Wednesday August 19th from 7pm till we finish, which is usually around 9:30.
Enjoy the pics!

I've got a few ideas to help out the newbies at the next class on Aug.19th.
I will also have anti-mlpa bumper stickers and hopefully T-shirts to pass out to the attendees.

Ok, class starts at 7pm 2nyt. I plan on showing how to shape hypolon and install grips. Also, I'll have a couple tables set up for anyone that wants to use them. Beginners are welcome, as always, and I will have a set up for you to try your newly acquired rod wrapping skills.
C-ya'll there!
