| PicToWeave weaving contest winners announced!
The winner(s) of the innaugural PicToWeave weaving competition have been announced.
There has been some outstanding work submitted!
Sandy & I had hoped to encourage a few more people to take up the craft and the results were very pleasing.
Some great work was submitted.
There has also been some amazing generosity by the sponsors of the event.
We thank them for their generosity and willingness to encourage growth in our craft.
[Edit] I've posted the pics below.
cheers,
Owen & Sandy Dare

I did drop by, and could not view the images unless I registered.
Since you made the post here on BD, why don't you post up a couple of pics here for the members of this site to look at, without having to register for another site?

I agree with Capt. G My husband just started building rods, he wants me to start doing thread art. My husband was born and raised in Biloela, we will be over there in Feb.

Debbie,
These patterns and more are available free for download.
Give us a 'hoy when you're in Bilo.
If we're still here we'd love to catch up for a beer.
cheers,
Owen

Thank you for the pix.
Although all are good, I second that the fish skeleton is most excellent.
Was the quality of the finish/coating considered, or just the thread art itself?

Yeap we did do well on our charter last year, might just pull our boat down there and stay for a few extra days! Looks like the boat we went out on is no longer in business. See ya in May!
Owen we would love to hookup and have a beer with you, Joe has an Aunt that lives in Gladestone. We pass through on the way to Bilo.
Love thoughs wraps, my favorite is the dragon!

In answer to your queston yes the finish was also taken into consideration. There where 3 criteria's
Straightness ad tightness of thread
Choice of Colour and Co-ordination
Quality of epoxy and straightness of trim bands.
Tough job picking winners but at the end of the day they are all winner as they got up and had a go. Thanks guys Quote:
