flexcoat removal

Can anybody tell me a good way to remove old flexcoat.I've just been using a razor blade. It's just a big pain in my ass!! Every rod I rebuild,keep thinking there HAS to be a better way. PLEASE HELP!!

Carefully warm it up with an alcohol lamp/burner. Carefully.....once its soft it comes off fairly easily

Dale I like to use a hair dryer to warm up the finish as it's a lot harder to scortch the pole, direct flame or a regular heat gun can get the wrap and blank a lot hotter than you intend.

I warm the wrap and if possible pick at the wrap with a bodkin untill I can get it to unwrap then it literqally just spins right off.

Be careful with little sharp flying chunks of finish in your eyes too.
