If you've spent some time in the bow - worked a long range boat - or just enjoy the passion of the plug - throw out every 10ft jig stick you have and wrap 3 of these.
God bless technology - the best new long rod period.

Well, thats ONE opinion....
I've heard the same thing about the new Calstars too.....already have an Ulua, and am building a 10 ft GUSA now. Might have to get a few more sticks and see what I like best!
This ought to get quite interesting....

How is the weight on this blank compared to the Calstar GF100J or too the blue ulua blank i have the blue ulua blank and i like it it's not as heavy as the super seeker version i am currently wrapping a GF100J which i like it's thinner and lighter the the blue ulua i have? wish Phenix could come out with a 10' but 9 is the longest they have Quote:

I built one for spike and they are sooooooooooooooooo light. The rod is just as good or better than the ulua and the butt is smaller in diameter.Do you still want one hoops?

Just kidding, take your time with the second stick, I still have not had the oppertunity to take it out yet, mabe this weekend, I hope.
I got to admit Hoops (reelveal) my Harnells have accumulated quite a bit of dust since Uluas first came out, I have three of them and they are a great stick from Calico on the plug, to the obvious YELLOWTAIL, but also for skip jigging. Those Uluas serve well for tossing a Tady9 (surface jigas well) and trying for a Yellowfin (or Bluefin) over 100lbs, especially when the fish are competing flyers.
The SScjbf100 that El Capo had wrapped is sweet but I do not see it as a rod I would take down to Clipperton or the Bank unless for fishing scooters, I do not think it has the cajones to fish for bigger Yellow Fin Tuna. I do love the rod and I have no plans to fish a long one soon and that is why I orginally got the blanks, I plan to fish the SCI style.

Besides the off color water at SCI, their are blowing the shit out of the Island like a whore on dollar day, I think a portion of the Island has been closed everyday for the last month, I do not think that hurts the fishing that much, (except for all the WSB swimming up side down on the bottom). But at $5.00 a gallon a run to the second Island is a gamble with not knowing if you'll get the boot. I got a great site to check the Navys schedule, and this week I will fish Cat or local.
