Any info on 3pc Sabers?

I picked up a few 3pc saber blanks I'm guessing to be 10-15yrs old. They're 6'6" and I would guess from the action they're rated for 15-30lb (at least). The dimensions of the the blank are .600 at the butt with a size 6.5 tip. I don't have any numbers or any other info, wondering if any of you guys know anything about these blanks.

I've never heard of a 3 piece Saber.... but that doesn't mean it wasn't made? Perhaps a rod that's been altered? What ferrules do theyhave? Post some pics.

There's a local builder here who has a shop full of random stuff you would never look for, but might find handy. His name is Don Becker and his shop is full of old sabers, fishers, fenwicks & stuff. All he told me was that he knew they were sabers and that possibly these were blanks made for Orvis for their travel tarpon rods years back. They're just gloss black blanks, standard ferrules. He would only sell me 4 of them. Here's a picture of one I built a while back, I figure with guides on it you could get a better idea of the size of the blanks. These are some stiff fuckers. Super thick walls. I fish 30lb braid on this rod with no issues. I'm a shitty photographer.

I think before Penn went waaaaaaaaaay offshore for their manufacturing,Rodco in Orange County made blanks for them. Thats quite possibly what you have as the California Tackle Company never did make blanks like those. Perhaps they are even older Pac Bay blanks.

Thanks Chuck. I pick up alot of obscure stuff off of this guy and info on some of these blanks is unreliable at best. I've bought blanks off him before that he told me had been in storage for 20+ years, can't blame the guy for forgetting a few details.
