Cutting a Graphite Blank?

I have a blank that is all graphite (Graphite USA) and want to cut a few inches off the butt.

What is the best way to do this?

What tool or instrument do you use? Hacksaw?

Any help is appreciated.

use a plasma cutter Glenn, actually wrap the area where you are going to cut first with masking tape and use a hack saw, it will keep the graphite from splintering .

dremel work well for me, but most cut off wheels dont have the circumference (radius) to make it through the blank cleanly, so turning the blank is often necessary.

Hack saw works fine, but just make sure you use very light fine strokes at the end to keep the blank from splintering.

edit: i just read above, what john said, its true.
